About

A taught observation method, not a medical examination.

This training teaches you to observe the iris and the sclera methodically — charts, constitutions, structural and colour signs, sclerology — and to talk about it within the Swiss framework of complementary therapies, without ever making a diagnosis. An iridological reading describes what is seen and attributes each interpretation to the school that formulates it; it does notannounces never an illness.

Who this course is for

For practitioners and future practitioners in complementary therapies (naturopathy, phytotherapy, micronutrition, reflexology…) who wish to add a structured observation of the eye to their listening, and for anyone curious to understand what iridology claims and what it cannot claim. No prerequisites.

What research says about iridology

We say it from the very first module: the published controlled studies (Simon et al., 1979; Knipschild, 1988; Ernst review, 2000) did not establish any diagnostic validity for iridology. The training therefore teaches it as what it is — a traditional terrain reading", transmitted by schools (Jensen, Deck, Angerer, Miller…) whose every interpretation is attributed — and never as an examination that “detects” diseases.

Our safety framework

Backbone of the whole training: an iridological reading is never a diagnosis, never replaces a medical or ophthalmological examination, and never bases a prescription. Any ocular warning sign — pain, decreased vision, red eye, new spot, unequal pupils — calls for referral to a doctor, and the training teaches this explicitly. Iris photographs are health data, protected as such.

Framework and limits. This training conveys a culture and a method of observation for educational purposes. It replaces neither a medical or ophthalmological examination, nor an ongoing follow-up, and authorises no announcement of illness nor any prescription deduced from the iris. The illustrations are original images created for the training; no photograph of an iris taken from a book is used.
